Cheap Vs. Value

"Cheap" vs. "Value": Why the Lowest Price Isn't Always the Best Deal

Let's clear something up: cheap and valuable are not the same thing. People use them like they're interchangeable, but when it comes to booking a trip, mixing them up is how you end up paying more for less — and not finding out until you're already at the resort.

Cheap is just a number.

A cheap trip is whatever has the lowest price tag. That's it. That's the whole criteria.

What it doesn't tell you:
- What's actually included — resort fees, gratuities, wifi, drinks, excursions
- Where your room actually is (hello, view of the parking lot)
- What the itinerary really looks like once you read the fine print
- How you're getting there and what that adds to the total
- Whether the property or line is even any good
- What happens if you need to cancel or change plans

Cheap fares get cheap by cutting something. Sometimes it's the room category. Sometimes it's what's included. Sometimes it's flexibility. You don't find out what got cut until you're comparing your final invoice to your friend's "more expensive" trip and realizing hers included everything yours is about to nickel-and-dime you for.

Value is what you actually get for what you pay
.

Value isn't a price. It's a ratio.

A trip that costs more upfront but includes drinks, gratuities, wifi, and a room you actually want to be in can easily beat the "cheaper" option once you tally up everything that gets added back on later. Suddenly the deal isn't a deal anymore.

Value also covers things a price comparison will never show you:
- Whether the trip actually fits how you travel — solo, family, group, honeymoon, whatever your thing is
- The level of service you're getting
- Whether your days are spent doing what you came for, or stuck in transit and admin
- Peace of mind if life happens and plans change

Where I come in:

Anyone can find you a cheap price. That takes thirty seconds and a search bar.

Finding you the trip that's actually worth what you're paying — that's the job. I know what's bundled and what's not, which "deals" quietly turn into the pricier option once the extras get added back on, and how to match the trip to what you actually want out of it. My goal isn't the lowest number on the page. It's making sure every dollar you spend gets you something.

So next time you're comparing prices, ask yourself: is this cheap, or is it actually a good deal? If you're not sure — that's exactly what I'm here for.
